One way to know the truth about the matter is to look at it from the beginning and build from there. Failure to do so would result in not knowing the whole story. This is why we see forensic scientists trying to uncover something from the very source then build up to the current situation.
This hasn’t been so with the Christian faith. People have not decided to delve into scripture and understand it for themselves instead prefer to be at a place of infancy. When I was a child I thought like a child, this infers to how a child behaves and acts towards matters around them. The aspect of Christianity one has to be a child so as to grow but has to be an adult in order of application. But like a curse, Gods people are perishing for lack of knowledge, and not only Gods people but even the sinners have come to a place where they have attached growth to certain infant preachers. They do so in order to feel justified so as not to attain faith, that is become born again. This is the beginning of wealth.
We have to understand that God in his Righteousness set before us certain principles that we are to be guided by. They are principles for the supernatural and principles for the physical. There is a danger in thinking that because you use the principles already set by god outside of being born again then you are okay with God. Let us not make the mistake of thinking that just because God loves me then even if I do not become born again it is okay. We should note that scripture says “Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” So God love is for both the righteous and the sinner but the difference is where shall you spend eternity? You may be an atheist and not believe in the afterlife or in a deity, this is a topic for another discussion for now we have one that is most prevalent in the church and that is the issue of wealth.
What is wealth? Why do people so wrongly apply the scripture of wealth? Why do people feel it is wrong for preachers to have wealth? Why is poverty synonymous with the Christian faith?
Austin Netzley in his article says that “Wealth depends on who you are, what your interests are, and where you’re at in life. It is defined differently by every person, but ultimately, true wealth is freedom. It is the freedom to do what you wish, when you wish, with whomever you wish. It is the freedom that comes with not worrying. It is freedom from your enemies, and mostly from yourself.Wealth is Freedom: Money freedom, Time freedom. Relationship freedom, Spiritual freedom. Physical freedom. Ultimate freedom = 5 freedoms + ability to pursue your genius. – Mark Hansen/Robert Allen, The One Minute Millionaire. (https://yoprowealth.com/what-is-wealth/)
Looking at this article link we see the three points of views of biblical wealth and of poverty (https://probe.org/wealth-and-poverty/), how clearly it is God desire that we should wealthy and in good health. Yet then this begs the question why are certain preachers content with preaching a gospel of poverty? The simple answer would be they have not fully understood the scripture and would need to delve fully into scripture and let the scripture speak to them and not speak to to the scripture.
Proverbs 13:22 “A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just”.
This scripture has brought so much contention in the body of Christ and has left many people walking away from the Christian faith due to lack of understanding. The Kjv bible rightly puts it a good man leaves and inheritance, so ask yourself: who is a good man in this case? This is not mere someone that does good acts but this is the man that is born again. So if the good man leaves an inheritance then if he has no inheritance to live how does he live it? So we see the first element of disobedience. The wealth of the wicked is only an add on and not the principle thing that we should go for.
Deuteronomy 8:18 “But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.
This scripture clearly identifies that it is God who gives the power to create wealth, then if the wealth is in the hands of the wicked then Gods word is contradicted, for how will the covenant be confirmed? It would mean God favors the wicked over the righteous and this is not so. For he states “I will make a distinction between Israel and Egypt”. Then why has it all gone wrong for us? T
This all sterns from the issue of identity which man lost in the beginning and now the church currently struggles with it. Christine Serva “Personal identity is the concept you develop about yourself that evolves over the course of your life. This may include aspects of your life that you have no control over, such as where you grew up or the color of your skin, as well as choices you make in life, such as how you spend your time and what you believe. You demonstrate portions of your personal identity outwardly through what you wear and how you interact with other people. You may also keep some elements of your personal identity to yourself, even when these parts of yourself are very important.
Have you ever struggled with the question, ‘Who am I?’ or thought about who you might become in the future? These questions have been thought about and discussed throughout history, in particular by philosophers who have immersed themselves in the search for knowledge about the nature of being human. Such questions as, ‘What does it mean to be a person?’ and ‘Do I matter?’ have engaged key thinkers and created conversations that we still grapple with in our society. Most people feel they want to endure in some way, both in their lives and beyond death. The philosophy of personal identity aims to address these matters of existence and how we even know we exist through time”. Failure to identify and know who we as believers has led to the catastrophe of thinking we have become less. We claim and profess “we are the head and not the tail” yet our actions are all far from the very thing that we do loudly claim. It high time the church understands what it means to be the image of God, it is high time the church and the body matures to the place that God wants us to be. it high time the people stop the blame game and start taking responsibility of parts they are playing in the gospel being wrongly preached. God said in the beginning I have given you dominion over everything. Was it not to one created in his image that God gave this? Was it not to Moses that God gave the ability to create the ark, was it not to Jacob that God gave the ability to create a nation? Was it not to Joseph that God gave the ability that the world uses today as a management system for cooperation’s? I strongly believe and know that it is to the body of Christ that the ability to create wealth is and is strongly believe that the wealth is not in hands of the wicked but in the hands of Gods children.
